This is a protected beach for Harbor Seals and their pups. This is part of Lover’s Point State Marine Preserve and is located at Point Cabrillo.  You can only view these Seals and pups through a chain link fence.  You can usually see a few seals coming in and out of the water or snuggling up to their mamma.

This picture was taken inside of the Marina, while we were kayaking in the spring.  This is several small sea lions sunning themselves on a ROUND floating tire used as a buoy.

One night we were lucky to see a group of raccoons sitting below the wharf, looking for snacks.

You never know what animals or sea life you are going to see in Monterey.  One visit the ocean was filled with jelly fish, in every direction.  ROUND ORANGE JELLY FISH.

At Breakwater Cove, there is a coast guard jetty with a pier that you can walk onto.  At the end of the jetty is a rock wall with hundreds of sea lions resting and sunning themselves, you can no longer access the rock wall but you can walk out to the end of the pier and view the sea lions behind an iron fence.  This is where the males like to rest, play and tussle in the water. We were able to get a better view on a kayak.
