Photo Diary: Exploring the mystery of Bryce Canyon

According to Wikipidia, “The rocks exposed in Bryce Canyon are about 100 million years younger than those in nearby Zion National Park, and the rocks exposed in Zion are younger than those in the Grand Canyon to the south.

There are, however, shared rock units between all three, creating a supersequence of formations that geologists call the Grand Staircase. Together the formations of the Grand Staircase record nearly 2000 million years of the Earth‘s history. Bryce Canyon’s formations are the youngest known units in the Grand Staircase. Younger rock units, if they ever existed, have been removed by erosion.”

This is not based on Theory, but fact. We should all work to save and preserve our National Monuments.  These public lands are our Inheritance and belong to our children and future generations.

    • There is really so much to see and do in the area. If you are traveling by car I recommend staying in Kanab. They have super cool 😎 retro motels they are all retro modern. They also have a Residence In with heated pool, very affordable. I would visit not Bryce Canyon and Zion, and of course the Grand Canyon. I would visit in early To mid June. It snows in these parts so I would wait until the snow is off of the highways. The north r of the Grand Canyon is superb. And this will give you a chance to see The Grand Escalante Staircase. I’m ready to jump on this road trip just writing about it. 🤩
